Food Pantry

“Neighbor-To-Neighbor Food Pantry”

Our Food Pantry ministry began more than 50 years ago, serving our friends and neighbors living in the surrounding neighborhoods. We operate out of our separate Pantry building behind the church.

How We Operate

This is an ALL VOLUNTEER STAFF from Greenmont-Oak Park and Ascension churches. Volunteers meet with client families to provide groceries and weekly restock and maintain the pantry. Food is supplied from “The Food Bank” and through area churches, businesses and organizations holding food collections. Our pantry primarily serves Kettering & SE Dayton zip code areas.

Families in Need ~ Operation Information

We serve families living in zip code areas: 45419, 45420, 45429, and part of 45432 south of Linden Ave.

Our hours of serving food/groceries to families are:

Mondays 4:30 to 5:30 PM

Wednesdays 5:30 to 6:30 PM

Saturdays 10 to 11 AM

  • You may come at the beginning of the hour to be served on a first-come first-served basis.

  • At every visit, each client must bring a photo ID and recent mail as proof of address for each adult in their household. Bring Proof of children at the first visit to our pantry.

  • You must wait at least 30 days between any two visits. We can assist families up to 12 times/year, once a month.

How to Help

Several area Kettering churches, businesses & organizations hold regular food drives to assist the community. Half of the food we give out is provided by “The Food Bank,” a government food program. Donations are always welcome. We can receive donations of money or food through Greenmont Oak Park Community Church and Ascension Catholic Church to help with operating costs.
